Update: June 10th-22nd

- I'm taking a summer class. It's a 8 week intensive course. It will be full of papers and take up a lot of time, so I may not be posting on the blog as often. The class ends August 8th. But, I'm ahead 2 weeks in my class!
- WE GOT APPROVED FOR A MORTGAGE this week!!
- Yesterday Tali dumped a whole thing of salt IN McCord's work shoes. Ha ha ha. It truly made me laugh so hard, I had tears in my eyes.
- We bought our hotel reservations for comic con.
- I'm doing a buttload of training at work and am done interviewing people for the new director position.
- I've applied for a promotion and hope to apply for another promotion within the next month. I may not get either of them due to lack of BS degree, but I'll apply.
- My apartment is a mess.
- Lastly,  I've been cooking vegitarian meals all weekend for a friend who is in diar need of some help. She works 60 hrs a week just to make ends meat, and is always super tired when we get together because she works so hard. I've made enough to feed them for a week, all vegitarian. It's been a BIG service project and I've been so happy to do it.

Tracy Aviary Trip Summer 2013

June 2013 Family Trip to Tracy Aviary
Today we went to Tracy Aviary in Liberty Park (SLC). It was so fun. Talia loved seeing the birds and watching them fly around. The raptors show was the best! A falcon flew right by my head and McCord's. it was awesome. McCord's favorite exhibit was the owls. I liked the tucan and all the weird looking varieties, also the show. I did get to see a string of baby quail following heir parents as they crossed the sidewalk. I loved that too. Talia liked the peacock and the flamingos. I took many pictures:

Bed bugs, yikes!

"Good night, sleep tight
Don't let the bed bugs bite.
If they do, squeeze them tight;
And don't let go 'till the morning light."

Our neighbors have spread their bed bugs to us. Yikes! Thanks to Angie & Adam we stayed in a nice hotel room while our apartment got sprayed.

New Year's Goals update:

It's almost June, which means the year is almost half way over. Thought I'd post about how my New Year's Goals are coming a long:

1- Pay off red car - Sept 2013. Well on our way to pay it off in september, 4 more months to go!
2- Pay off Jelly Bean car - Feb 2013. Paid off early in Feb 2013!
3- Go to the temple 1-2 times per month. Been keeping up!
4- Continue date night once per week.  Been keeping up!
5- chore cleaning chart.  Been keeping up!
6- FHE each week.  This one we need to do better on.
7- continue couples scripture study and prayers daily.  This we do maybe 1/2 the time.  Need to work on!
8- Go on a vacation.  Comic Con tickets purchased for July, and savings jar established. =)

Personal Goals:
1- scripture study daily. Keeping up pretty well.  Probably 5 times a week.  need to do daily.
2- Promotion @ work.  Promotion received in Feb 2013!
3- continue well-u program for insurance.  Well-U Program requirements completed for this year!
4- read Ender's Game before the movie comes out.  Currently on chapter 8 of the book.
5- one BIG service project this year.  No big project done yet.

It's good to look back and see the goals that you made and note the good and bad progress that you've been making.  I'm proud of myself for the things that I have accomplished in the first half of this year. Most people make a "new year's resolution" and it's a failure by March.  So I'm proud of myself.  Now the other things I will remake them a goal and do better the 2nd half of this year.

Pictures of TalĂa: Taken May 2013

People told me that I would end up taking a lot of pictures of my first child.  They were right, I sure do!  I love all the different facial expressions that I've caught on camera, so this is why there are so many pictures of her posted on my blog.

Playing with the shoes in the shoe box:

Adventurous child.  She loves the bath tub:

I like to post a picture of her sleeping when I can because it's a tender
moment for me when I walk into my child's room and see something like this.
Talia at a ward BBQ playing in the grass and watching McCord play softball.
Oh yeah!  She gets stuck in the most random places.
This is one of many places, but one of the few I caught on camera.

"Mommy Baby night"

Each Wednesday night, a few mommy's in my ward get together and chat while the babies play with each other. I snapped this picture when coincidently they were all by each other.  It turned out so cute:
Back: Evangeline Petersen (red) 7 months, James Robison (11 months), Talia Larsen (11 months)
Front: Emily Elizabeth Perry (pink) 9 months, Michael Bell (7 months).
Sometimes I don't know what I would do without these wonderful moms.  We all take care of each other and are such good friends.  Cheers to you ladies.  May we never forget times like these.

Blog going private...

I mostly blog so I can print out the blog posts as a sorta journal.  I don't post to show off to other people or anything like that.  For this reason, along with others, we've decided to go private.  I figured not EVERYONE who has access to the internet should be worried about what I'm journal writing.  Nah, I don't want to bore them with that. lol.

Please post your email address below if you would still like access to my blog to see pictures, updates about our family, etc. etc.

Thanks so much,
McCord and Lisa

7 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

Our 7 yr anniversary was this week. McCord and I "ran away together" to the Anniversary Inn in Logan, UT. We stayed in the room called King Arthur's Castle! Very romantic! Complete suite with fireplace, Michelangelo painted ceiling, 2 TV's, and jetted tub for 2 with lion head fountain. McCord's favorite part was the sword in the stone. My brave knight drew the sword from the stone and he thought it was SO COOL.
McCord's parents watched Talia for us for a night. It was very romantic and relaxing. One anniversary we will never forget! Such a nice getaway.
We also got champagne flutes as a keepsake to remember our 7th anniversary:
